How do I book my shipment?
There are several ways to book your shipment. Once you’ve received your personalized quote fill out the “book my shipment” form. Once we receive that, you will be sent a booking confirmation with the details of your shipment confirmed to the email address provided. Shortly thereafter, we will give you a call and answer any questions for you.
How long should a transport take?
Several factors play into the duration of a transport, most importantly distance, weather, traffic and location. You will receive a pick up and delivery window in your booking confirmation email with our best estimate of dates. Please schedule well in advance if you need your bike by a certain date or if you are traveling.
What is a pickup/delivery window?
A pickup or delivery window is the time surrounding your pickup date and delivery date. We generally give a 3 day window that we estimate pick up will occur provided good weather and no mechanical delays. You will receive a call 72 -48 hours before pick up and then another call 24 hours prior to arrival at your door with a more precise time. We will work around your schedule for that day as best we can to accommodate you and all our clients. If you are traveling or need your bike by a specific date schedule your transport with adequate time and for safe measure factor in bad weather, traffic or break downs.
What bike preparation needs to be done before shipping?
Nothing, you do not need to drain the gas tank (unless there is a leak) or disconnect the battery. Do not palletize or crate your bike–it is not treated like freight. We only need to be able to roll your bike on and off the trailer and maneuver it into position. Preparing the bike to be ready for driving at delivery or winterizing is the client’s responsibility. We do not charge batteries, change oil or add any fluids to a bike. Drivers are not mechanics.
What does DOOR-TO-DOOR delivery mean?
Door-to-Door means as physically close to your front door as possible. During any call with us you may discuss any concern you have about accessibility. In rural locations we may have to park off the main road and roll the bike to your front door. We really try and get to the actual door or garage. If your door is unreachable due to ice we will get as close as possible. Please manage icy driveways on the day your bike is to be delivered or picked up; we will not roll a bike up or down a sheet of ice.
How do I check on my bike’s status?
You should receive check calls often while in transit; we pride ourselves on our excellent communication. However, if you are concerned please feel free to email us at info@wolverinecycle.com or call the office at (817) 680-8226. You will also have the driver’s cell phone number, but we ask that you understand he is driving several hours each day and navigating thru traffic, construction and tolls. Our trucks carry thousands of dollars in cargo and for safety the driver can not be answering 20+ customer calls a day while pulling up customer files on his computer or writing down new contact information. For this reason we ask that customers email ALL new contact information including address changes and phone numbers. The driver will call you directly with a status report and to set up the delivery schedule to accomodate your itinerary.
When is payment due?
Clients are expected to pay at booking to secure space on the trailer for that trip. If you wish to pay with cash, send your payment through Zelle to wolverinecycle@gmail.com If you wish to pay with a card you may use Venmo or CashAPP. Email us for a mailing address if you would rather mail a cashier's check to our company office after booking (payment must arrive before pick up). You can email us with any questions regarding payments.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept credit cards using Venmo and CashAPP. You will receive our handles to send money directly to us, no one at our company will have access to your card information.
How do I know when you will be here?
You will receive a call from us approximately 48-24 hours prior to pick up/ delivery as the truck approaches. You will also receive a call at least 30 minutes out. Drivers usually leave a message if no one answers and the office will email you if calls are not possible. We call the day prior to arrival to narrow down a time frame, but also to verify the address and know who will be the party releasing/ receiving the bike. It is important that you reply to that message before our arrival. For the safety of our drivers we do not like to show up to an address we have not confirmed, or know someone is expecting us.
Should I take off work to meet you?
That is not necessary nor recommended. You will not be reimbursed by us for taking off work even if the driver is delayed for any reason (weather, traffic, flat tire ETC). We want to work with you, so as little disruption to your normal routine is necessary. Releasing and receiving a bike only takes a few minutes. Drivers do all the loading/ unloading, and videos are taken at both points for our records when possible. We try and work with people’s schedules but please be considerate of other customers and our drivers. If you will not be available for huge chunks of time, on the day we are arriving, please arrange for an alternate pick up/ delivery site or an alternate adult to be there.
Do you charge extra for residential deliveries?
No, the price we quote you takes into account your area, tolls incurred and distance. No hidden fees or charges.
Do I have to be there to receive my bike?
You or your designated representative must be present when the carrier arrives for pickup or delivery of your bike in order to sign the "Bill of Lading" and take procession of your bike. You can designate a spouse, relative or neighbor to be the pickup or delivery liaison, just email us their name so we know who should sign the BOL. We will coordinate with them and you so everyone is updated on arrival and delivery times.
Is my bike safe and secure?
Yes, safety is our main priority. Your bike is mainly in an enclosed trailer so it is protected from debris, road salt, road chemicals in winter, weather conditions and hidden from sight. Our trailer is also outfitted exclusively for motorcycles. We have several designated slots and different type of wheel chocks to accomodate your bike. Including unique wheel chocks which hold the front wheel in place and an e-track system to strap down your bike at it’s best unique points.
Do you deliver to military bases?
Yes, we have several clients that have used our services for base transfers. Some are out of the country and coordinate their move via email. If you will not be available at the pick up or delivery location simply assign a represenative to release and/or take pocession of your bike. We will work with coordinating our schedule directly with your assigned represenative and cc you on all correspondence. This will save you from having to play go between while maintaining you completely informed on your shipment. We are familiar with several bases and the procedures for entrance.
What does the person at pick up have to help you with?
The person at pick up must release the bike to us and sign the Bill of Lading. Our trailer is outfitted with unique hinged wheel chocks that hold the front wheel in place so only one person is needed to strap it down without risk of damage or it falling over.
How does transportation work if I am in another country?
We have several international clients who coordinated their move via email. We will coordinate directly our schedule with your pick up point represenative/seller and your delivery point represenative/ container shipping company. Every communication with both parties will be relayed to you via email so you are kept informed. Payment is usually made by Paypal (with a 4.5% international fee charge from them added on to the balance) or a certified check is often sent and waiting for us at the delivery point. You can also mail via FedEX a certified check to the office.
What if my bike has to go out on a container?
First and foremost, please send us your container deadline. We will make it a priority to get your shipment to your container in time. We will coordinate with the logistics company and relay all correspondence to you.
The bike does not start; does that matter?
As long as your bike rolls, we can transport it.
Is the bike covered by my insurance while transported?
We cover anything done to you vehicle while in transit, except acts of nature, vandalism or terrorism. Personal and accesories, not permanently attached, are not covered by cargo insurance and should be removed. If your bike has saddlebags please remove them. All damage claims have a $1,000 deductible paid by you the client. That means on any damage claim you are responsible for the first $1,000 of repair.
What if I nor anyone I know can be there for my scheduled delivery?
If no one can act as your representative or you will not be there let us know as soon as you know something has come up. We will try and work with you to reschedule your date, trip or time. Worst case scenario, your bike will be put in storage at your expense and delivered at a more convenient time on a future trip.
Will my motorcycle be driven?
Your bike will mainly be rolled on and off. Depending on the age and type of bike, the battery may be dead after a long trip. Feel free to ask our opinion for your type of bike.
Can I change the pick up or delivery address once my shipment is booked?
Occasionally we have clients that need a bike delivered to their home instead of their work or to their shop instead of their home and so forth. These changes are assessed on a case by case basis. Extra charges may apply based on the new location, the route plan and distance from the original point. You must email us the new address as soon as you know it so we can map the address, change route plans and let you know the additional fee due on delivery. In some circumstances there may not be an additional fee it depends on the route.
Is my bike insured?
We can add insurance upon request free of charge, but all insurance includes a $1000 deductible covered by the client.
Can I send along some extra parts?
There is a possibility that we can accommodate extra parts, but it depends upon the size, weight and space available. You may be charged for this additional cargo and we give priority to established and repeat customers. Extra parts will not be accepted without prior notice and payment; in other words don’t spring it on the driver. Cost will be determined on a case by case basis, but if the “extra parts” take the space of a bike we will charge the same amount as a bike. Anything in the trailer will be charged like a bike and MUST be strapped down to ensure safety of all cargo. We can not transport furniture or household goods.
Can I cancel my shipment?
We understand that there are circumstances in which a shipment is no longer convenient or possible. You may cancel a shipment by simply emailing us a cancellation request which should include your shipments pick up and delivery points. We will charge a $100 cancellation fee for shipments cancelled which have paid and booked transport. All COD cancelled shipments will lose their deposit but it will be set aside to use for an upcoming shipment within 6 months (COD clients are only dealer or repeat clients). If we already have possession of the bike then the full transport cost will be billed before release of the bike to any party. We will not drive the bike back to the pick up point–that is a separate trip and charge. We will store your bike until you decide what to do and storage fees will be your full responsibility. Make sure that if you are selling the bike that the check has cleared before transport We do not want to referee buyer and seller transactions.
